Supplemental Cubbies Tools

  • A-C Verses, printable (.pdf)     /     download A-C Verses, editable (.ppt) : Offset these visuals on bright red and bright royal blue copy paper and laminate them. They provide a visual aid for teaching the two verses referred to over and again during the Cubbies club year: The A and C verses. See also the 10-second Rule

  • Apple Tree Certificates, printable (.pdf)Download Apple Tree Certificates, editable (.ppt) : This certificate provides an alternative to an award for completing all extra credit Under the Apple Tree sections. Uses master slides in PowerPoint. Ask for help if you need it.

  • Cheat Sheets (.pdf) / Dowload Cheat Sheet, editable (.doc): Use these as handy ID tag attachments to keep track of the schedule and the main Cubbies ideas that can be emphasized at any time throughout a club night.

  • Checklists, printable (.pdf)Download Checklists, editable (.docx) : These documents are as good a place to start as anywhere else when compiling a checklist (for yourself or other leaders or student leaders) of how to prepare for a club night and what needs to be accomplished during each segment of a club night. Use these as a starting point to create your own.

  • Creation Pictures, printable (.pdf): Many people don't realize that during the first three days of creation, God created the stuff. Then during the next three days of creation, God created the stuff that goes into the stuff. Then he rested. These visuals lay it out very clearly to show the development of creation.

  • Cubbie and Sparky are Friends, printable (.pdf) / Download Cubbie and Sparky are Friends, editable (.ppt): This visual provides a coloring page for the last night of club, to introduce graduating Cubbies to Sparky. Throughout the club year, we talk about Sparky to set the stage for moving up to Sparkies. We try to make it a foregone conclusion that the graduating Cubbies will, of course, come back for Sparkies. We also pass out Sparky bookmarks to all the graduating Cubbies, either on the last night of club or at the Awana Awards ceremony

  • Cubbie Buddy levels, printable (.pdf) / Download Cubbie Buddy Levels, editable (.ppt): These visuals are printed on red, yellow, and green paper, representing Stop, Slow, and Go. Cubbie Buddy levels are described in the Cubbies Leader Role Book on page 28. Use these at the start of the club year in particular to explain expected behavior from Cubbies, then use as a reference tool throughout the club year when needed.

  • Cubbies Pre-Prix, printable (.pdf)Download Cubbies Pre-Prix, editable (.pptx): This visual provides a sign for you use at your own Cubbies Pre-Prix. During the Awana Grand Prix, Cubbies usually are board and uninvolved. Use the Cubbies Pre-Prix as a way to fully engage your Cubbies and relieve some parents of their worry over what to do with their pre-school aged children. Segregate an area using foam floor mats and stanchions and provide wooden train tracks and wooden cars that can be colored with wood markers. Allow Cubbies to decorate cars however they want and design a track and race in their own private area. No one allowed unless accompanied by a preschooler! See this blog post for more information.

  • email to leader team. (.pdf): Communicate every aspect of the club night to your team on a weekly basis. Include the Lesson Plan .pdf and the Leader Sheet .pdf

  • Peach of a Savior pictures, printable (.pdf) / Download Peach of a Savior lyrics, editable (.docx): This is a fun preschool song that starts slowly and speeds up to a fruitbasket upset of craziness.

  • Potty Signs, printable (.pdf) / Download Potty Signs, editable (.ppt): Use these signs as a reminder to parents to have Cubbies use the restroom before club starts. This cuts down on bathroom breaks during the busy club night, and reduces the need for security measures for both students and leaders.

  • Sensory Seeking vs Sensory Sensitive, printable (.pdf): I can't take credit for this visual. It helps leaders understand the variations in children and the types of learners they are.

  • Shorts, printable (.pdf): This visual reminds parents that their little girls will be rough and tumble at Cubbies, and shorts should be worn under dresses.

  • Tracing pages AppleSeed, printable (.pdf) ESV / Tracing pages HoneyComb, printable (.pdf) ESV. I created these pages to help Cubbies learn verses and write letters. (Remember my rule about the number of colors on the page has to be at least the age of the child.)

  • Whole Body Listening, printable (.pdf)I can't take credit for this visual. It shows how preschoolers can listen with their hands, feet, eyes, and every other body part. Start the club year by going over this visual in more detail. Then just review as needed throughout the club year.
